At Doernbecher, we know that children are different from adults in every way. From playrooms and playgrounds, to medical equipment and exam procedures , everything about Doernbecher is designed just for kids. We know these special touches are vital to the well-being, as well as the health, of our littlest patients.
More than 1,300 doctors and staff are dedicated to diagnosing and treating both common illnesses and complex diseases at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. We are dedicated to kids, which is why you will find more children’s specialists gathered in one place that anywhere else in Oregon.
Doernbecher is kid-sized and family-friendly. We recognize that kids must be kids, and that smiles are an important part of helping a child get better. Likewise, we understand that families provide invaluable support and nurturing throughout their child’s illness. For that reason, we engage our patients’ families as partners in planning and making decisions about a child’s care.
We are conveniently located on Marquam Hill, and in Portland’s Bethany and South Waterfront neighborhoods. In addition, our staff travels to see patients throughout the state in their own neighborhoods. Doernbecher's Mission
